Our Story

it's all about family...

We're the Hardesty's and we love games. We've come up with a lot of fun ideas for games over the years, but REVOLUTION is the most exciting one yet. We have created everything from road-trip games to outdoor games to board games, but we always come back to card games. We've been working on REVOLUTION as a family with our 4 kids and it has really been a labor of love. Everyone from my 7 year old daughter to our Great-Grandma has helped design and develop this game. Now it's time to share it with everyone! We're thrilled to be able to share REVOLUTION with you and your friends and family. We hope you have as much fun playing as we do.

The ORIGINAL DECKs were HAND DRAWN

It started with a standard deck of cards but eventually we started making our own decks. We bought blank decks of cards and then used sharpies to create the cards. We would draw the cards by hand. It was slow, but it meant that we could tweak and adjust the cards as we went along. We didn't have to worry about getting things 'right' the first time, because we could just change them if we didn't like the way they turned out. It was a lot of work, but it meant that the final decks are truly a family effort, and reflect our unique style.

I would sketch out ideas for the different cards on my ipad and tweek them until they matched what we where looking for. Some of the early sketches ended up being very detailed. Ultimately we chose to go with a simpler design for the final product. The process of designing the game was a lot of fun and it was a great way to spend time with my kids.

Creating this game has been such an amazing experience. We've learned so much and we can't wait to see what’s next!
